There are 32 RGB LEDs per meter of this digital lpd8806 strip. Each LED can be controlled individually. The LPD8806 chip has built in 1.2 MHz high speed 7-bit PWM for each channel, so that it can do 21-bit color per LED. You can set the color of each LED's red, green and blue. The LEDs are controlled by shift-registers that are chained up down the strip so you can shorten or lengthen the strip. Only 2 digital output pins are required to send data down.
They come in 5 meter reels with a 4-pin JST SM connector on each end.
To Power a full roll of this lpd8806 strip, You must use at least 5V/10A power supply, do not use higher than 6V or you will destroy the entire strip.

Thanks a lot! The strip is made up of 2.5" segments. Each segment is independent and so you can cut the strip down on the segment boundaries. (Posted on 7/4/12)RATING - great digital addressable led stripReview by Brian P.

The LPD8806-based strips are easier to use than the HL1606, with fewer pins and only one library so this section will be nice and short! (Posted on 6/12/12)RATING - Awesome and cheapReview by Jeff Wright

I was skeptical of the stripper so I tested them on a piece of 30 ga kynar, making a dozen small strips on a single piece of wire. The result was a few surface scrapes and no nicks. (Posted on 5/18/12)RATING - Excellent!Review by Mike S.

Since the strip operates @ 5v, I have been experimenting with creating my own Atmel based Controller so I can real-time animation control and create my own color animations. (Posted on 12/29/11)RATING
